Rob Sachs is the senior partner of the Philadelphia-based plaintiff’s complex personal injury firm,
Shrager & Sachs. His statewide practice focuses on medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and other
catastrophic personal injury matters. Sachs has previously served on the Board of the Philadelphia
Trial Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and was elected by his statewide
colleagues to serve as Governor to the American Association for Justice. He also previously served
on the Board of Public Justice Foundation based in Washington, D.C. and Oakland, California.
Rob was born and raised in Philadelphia. He earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1981
from Amherst College. He was awarded his Juris Doctor degree from The Charles Widger
School of Law – Villanova University in 1984. While at Villanova, he was a staff member of the
Villanova Law Review.
Rob is admitted to practice in the state courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is
admitted to practice in the federal district courts of the Eastern and Middle Districts of
Pennsylvania, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the United States Supreme Court.
He has been an active rower since 1974 and he regularly rows both on the
Schuylkill River in Philadelphia and on Twin Lakes in Pike County, where he and his
wife also maintain a home. He volunteers his time as Chairman of the University
Barge Club 1871 Foundation to help preserve and protect the façade of one of the
historic boathouses along Philadelphia’s Boathouse Row.
Robert was appointed to the Board on June 13, 2022. His term will expire on April 1, 2025.
